Observations

Red Rioja comes two broad styles: young and intensely fruity (Joven) or older and slightly spicy thanks to oak ageing (Crianza). This is a Crianza and is made from the classic Tempranillo grape which is picked at its optimum state of ripeness in the second half of September. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks after a cold soak and the new wine allowed to settle before being filled into American oak barrels where the wine remains, developing subtleties, for at least a year before being bottled. It then spends another year ageing in bottle before release. The result is a wine with a deep black cherry colour and pronounced aromas of cherry, strawberry and raspberry with hints of vanilla. On the palate it is well structured and nicely balanced with plenty of fruit and the complexity and length which come from barrel ageing.Nuntius Crianza is perfect for most red meats, stews, barbecues and game poultry.
